Dear world of politics,

wars, corruption, hate, violence, and crime,

I have had it with you.

The more of you I see, the less I like.

The more years I am alive, the more corruption I see.

The more breaths I take the more crime and prejudice I find.

Say something I am giving up on you.

Say something.

You have my head spinning.

You have my heart screaming.

You undo all the work we do.

You multiply with deaths of thousands.

There are over 11,500 children dead so far in Syria’s civil war.

I want to scream at you world.

How could you?

Say Something world.

How can I walk in your heart and pump it with love?

Throughout history you have taken the souls of so many.

60 million in World War II.

The Holocaust… 17 mil.

People of color,

immigrants,

white gay men

were all disproportionately hurt in 2011.

Say something world.

What’s your excuse?

Whats your resonance?

Around 160,000 kids stay home from school every day because they have been bullied.

Suicide gives us 4,400 deaths per year.

For every suicide among young people, there are at least 100 suicide attempts.

Did you know that over 14 percent of high school students have considered suicide?

Look what you have done world.

Say something world.

Stop thinking hate is invisible. (Click to Tweet!)

Stop believing that we can go on like this.

We can’t.

When we look back in history we find the same death doll.

We find the same fights.

The same problems. Ego. Prejudice. Self Righteousness.

I don’t want to give up on you world. I want to find the light within you.

The love you were born with. The passion you were given from day one.

Its all in there. I know you can remember your soul.

I know you can. We can.

It might look dark but the darker it is, the lighter your light will shine.

Don’t keep us in the dark for too long though.

It is time to start connecting.

To start holding hands. To dropping our weapons. To hugging.

It won’t happen all at once.

But if you do have a pair of hands, go find another pair to hold today.

Preferably a stranger, someone you have yet to love.

With light,

Christina

As I read this message, it brings to mind the question that I have heard so many times before, even from the children in my life. Why?……….. Yes, come on world, we can do better than this. “Say Something!”

  • Erin McRaven says:

And don’t forget the American Holocaust. The untold stories of a forgotten race. The people that had this land stolen from them. What we call the Native Americans.

  • Cindy says:

Beautifully said and in the hearts of many. ♡

  • Carogilligan says:

This moved me to tears, especially the suicide statistics.
